ABOUT US

THE THREE NORTHS OF PERU, THE AMAZON, THE ANDEAN AND THE COASTAL, OFFER US MANY WORLDS TO KNOW, TO EXPLORE AND, OF COURSE, TO PRESERVE.

AT PERU TRES NORTES WE ARE COMMITTED TO SUSTAINABLE TOURISM THAT RESPECTS OUR NATURAL AND CULTURAL HERITAGE.

Pumarinri Amazon Lodge

HISTORY

In 2005 we started the construction of Pumarinri, with the idea of offering a jungle experience, in the jungle and with the people of the jungle. Until then, all the hotels in Tarapoto were located in the city…

We had a privileged location, between two villages with history, Shapaja and Chasuta, on the banks of the Huallaga and guarded by the Azul and Escalera mountain ranges. Fifteen years later, we are proud to have offered this experience to visitors from Peru and around the world, and to have been pioneers in the promotion of ecotourism and the integration of native communities in this activity.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

We work closely with the neighboring communities of Chasuta and Shapaja, and especially with the native Quechua community of Mushuk Lamas. We have promoted the installation of solar energy in this community and encouraged their participation in ecotourism activities, such as management and guiding at the Pucayaquillo waterfalls. These communities are the suppliers of many of the inputs we use at Pumarinri, from the agricultural products used in our kitchen to the palm roofs of our buildings.

CERTIFICACIONES

At Pumarinri Amazon Lodge we are proud to have the seal of the German certifier TourCert, which demonstrates our good practices of environmental sustainability and social responsibility. We have placed special emphasis on the rational use of water and electricity, the reduction in the use of plastics, especially single-use plastics, the rotation of sheets and towels appealing to the sensitivity of the guest and respect for the native flora and fauna.
